Open the Book is a nationwide project which offers primary school children an opportunity to hear the major stories from the Bible.

Tewkesbury Methodist Church has a team which presents 'Open the Book' assemblies in two local schools:

•  Tirlebrook primary every other Thursday, meeting at Tewkesbury church at 9:15 a.m. first.
• Alderman Knight special school once every half term at 8:30 a.m.

Apperley Methodist Church is also part of an 'Open the Book' ecumenical team that visits:

• Deerhurst and Apperley C of E Primary School every Wednesday at 9.00 a.m.
